The temperatures have been rather HOT lately ... and so has the competition! I don't know if it is my blistering 30 MPH serve, or maybe the fear of being kicked out of the league for beating the league organizer??? Whatever the reason, I'm truly grateful, because the mother/son combination of John Bondon & Maria Yum has become the team to beat in the Mixed "A" Division, with an impressive 7 wins, zero loss record! (I have to gloat about being undefeated while I still can -- before someone dares ruin our perfect record!) ;) Trailing in second place is Carol Sullivan & Victor Palciauskas with an equally impressive 3-1 record. And hot on their tails is Corby Mullins & Nelson von Ebbe at 3 wins; 2 losses. In the "B" Division, the husband/wife team of Debbie Hellmann & Peter Hellmann has become the team to beat, with an unstoppable 5-0 record. Mary Jane Kiefer & Michael Kiefer have captured the Number 2 spot at 2-1, while Ann Marie McGee & Bob McGee are currently tied for Third Place with Michelle Gold & Jeffrey Strathmeyer. A complete listing of Team Standings can be found at: http://www.bayareatennis.com QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENT FOR THE END-OF-SEASON TOURNAMENT Don't forget, that in order to play in the End Of Season Tournament, scheduled for mid-September, you need to complete and report at least 4 (four) matches to me by September 12th. We are now approaching our halfway point in the league, so be sure to get those matches in! Report scores to me via email to: jbondon@brwncald.com or by phone: 925-210-2242 or 925-672-4109 LEAGUE WEBSITE Unfortunately it does not appear hopeful that the score entry system on the website will be available anytime soon. My friend, a professional web developer who offered to volunteer his time for this project, suffered hard drive & data loss both at his work and home, so needless to say he became delayed trying to resolve those issues. He now has to focus on some of his paying customers before he can continue on this project. I do apologize for this. Work on the site will proceed in the fall, but unfortunely for now, it will remain static. Please continue to report your scores to me and I will update the site manually. Updates are done on an almost daily (late at night) basis. You will find a complete listing of completed matches and team rankings at: http://www.bayareatennis.com Good luck to everyone in your upcoming matches. For any "A" division teams that I have not personally played yet, but am scheduled to, please let me know your availability. We are eager to play! See you out on the courts! :) John
